I don't know what you might include as a 'trusted site,' so I can't comment In any event, if you absolutely must connect the XP system you described to the Internet, the very least you should do would be to update it to Service Pack 3 and all of the security updates that were released between the issuance of sp3 and April 8, 2014 (there are a lot of them).

I expect that one day that statement will no longer be correct, but I don't know when that day will arrive..
